Forrester's social computing study # 2

Having read the report, I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. Grab it here. The research findings should provide a wakeup call for traditionalists either unconcerned or simply oblivious to what Forrester terms 'social computing'. Here are some topline findings:

1. Value will shift from ownership to experience
2. Power will shift from institutions to communities
3. Marketers and strategists: Listen more, talk less

Although the research has a US focus it was also great to see so many socio-political examples from outside the US referenced.

Its great to have the weight of Forrester research validating the importance of WOM marketing.

Good stuff.
