Corporate blogging the Hitachi way

Interesting conference ending tomorrow (sorry) in Paolo Alto (too far anyhow) called the NewComm Forum (website here), which is looking at "New Strategies for PR, Marketing, Advertising".

Among the panelists chewing the fat over corporate blogging today was Jeremiah Owyang, global web manager for Hitachi Data Systems. He makes some interesting points about the need for large organisations to get more involved in the debate and discussion already going on around them (see Shel Holtz's summation of panel banter here). Owyang as paraphrased by Holtz;

"The conversation will happen whether or not you participate".
