The WOM myth

Continued theme from this original study (post about it here), BzzAgent and Keller Fay have teamed up on another piece of research (here) to prove the products that are easy to talk about create more WOM. From the report;

"The first myth the research rebuts is that word of mouth is only for the latest thing. Word-of-mouth success is about communicating solutions--providing answers that consumers want to pass along to others."

We @ 1000heads agree with this position but I am not sure I agree there's a myth surrounding this, is there?

WOM is not necessarily only created by crazy stunts and draw-dropping innovation. WOM is sharing of practical advice - like which insurance deal is best. It's also sending on a link to a bloke dressed as a chicken doing what you ask of him in a subservient manner.

Thanks to Furry Rabbits for heads up.
