NetFlix premiere API
As of today, US movie rental titan NetFlix has released their API, allowing anyone eager to have their developer wizardry way with the company’s expansive database.

That means free access to data on over 100,000 films and, importantly, statistics relating to consumer ratings, of which there are two billion increasing by two million a day. What appealed to the on-the-go movie mogul in me is the possibility to integrate the application onto non-pc hrdware, as pointed out by Gizmodo. No longer will I have to awkwardly scribble down the names of recommendations when out and about, or commit them to memory and invariably forget them when I eventually find myself in front of a laptop. Something that infuriates my inner Barry Norman no end, but possibly for not much longer if such trends are followed this side of the Atlantic.
RWW’s preview on this is likely to satiate those after some more on this NetFlix move.
